Religion of peace - revisited...

Last Friday I posted about the attacks in Afghanistan against the u.n. compound over the burning of the koran by a pastor in Florida.

A visitor named Milz left this comment -
I like the radical thought, however there is a difference. Misguided and uneducated people form most of the people who undertake the uncouthful deeds. There is always a second side of the coin and I think people should take a step back to look on to it.

Milz
I thought about that a bit today, and while it is true that the majority of the people in Afghanistan are a bunch of misguided and uneducated savages, that isn't true of all muslim terrorist scumbags.

For example, osama bin laden studied economics and business administration at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest bin Laden earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979.

khalid sheikh mohammed attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and completed a degree in mechanical engineering in 1986.

mohamed atta studied architecture at Cairo University, graduating in 1990, and continued his studies in Hamburg, Germany at the Technical University of Hamburg.

ramzi yousef enrolled at Swansea Institute in Wales where he studied electrical engineering, graduating four years later. He also studied at the Oxford College of Further Education to improve his English.

wail al-shehri graduated from abha teachers college in 1999 and  took a job as an elementary school physical education teacher at the khamis mushait airbase.

abdulaziz al-omari  graduated with honours from high schooland then attained a degree from the imam muhammad ibn saud islamic university.

majed moqed was a law student from the small town of al-nakhil, saudi arabia (west of medina), studying at king fahd university's faculty of administration and economics.

While the guys listed above may not be typical of the terrorist scumbags around the world, they are/were still terrorist scumbags and they are all highly educated. Some of them from prominent families with many of the same opportunities young people in the United States have. Yet the chose to be terrorists. Pick a name from the list above and do a little research, you'll see what I mean.

There are millions and millions of uneducated people all over the planet who never choose a life of terrorism. Most of those people are born with the ability to distinguish the difference between right and wrong, good and evil. It seems that that ability in many muslims is either broken or doesn't exist...

White House defends embrace of G.E. CEO despite report company didn't owe taxes in 2010

Wait, GE made more than $5 BILLION dollars in the US, over $14 BILLION worldwide, and owed no taxes for 2010? What do you figure accounting that crooked costs? And then you figure GE got a $3.2 BILLION tax benefit. Holy crap!

It never fails, every single scumbag obama appoints to a position , czar or whatever, turns out to have some kind of shady or weird dealings. It's a big deal for about 15 minutes, then it goes away. I guess that proves it's ok to surround yourself with criminal scumbags when the media is in your pocket. The main stream media in this Country should hang their heads in shame. They have disgraced everything it is to be a news organization...

by Brian Montopoli - CBSNews

In January, President Obama named General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to head the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, an economic advisory board focused on job creation.

In his State of the Union address that same month, meanwhile, he called for the closure of corporate tax loopholes in conjunction with a lowering of the corporate tax rate, which stands at 35 percent.

"Over the years, a parade of lobbyists has rigged the tax code to benefit particular companies and industries," he said. "Those with accountants or lawyers to work the system can end up paying no taxes at all. But all the rest are hit with one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. It makes no sense. It has to change."

Mr. Obama's choice of Immelt came under scrutiny Friday in the wake of a front-page story in the New York Times reporting that despite $14.2 billion in worldwide profits - including more than $5 billion from U.S. operations - GE did not owe taxes in 2010.

In fact, the story said, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.

Hamas fires dozens of mortars at Israel

I can't imagine living under the threat of constant random mortar fire. The people of Israel seem to take it all in stride though. They prosper where lesser people would wither and die. This is headed for another showdown. This coupled with the recent killings of 5 innocent civilians, a husband, wife and their 3 young children, by scumbag terrorists could get ugly for hamas. Israel won't put up with that shit for long...

Associated Press

JERUSALEM – Palestinian militants in Gaza fired more than 50 mortar shells into Israel on Saturday, the heaviest barrage in two years, Israeli officials said, raising the prospect of a new Mideast flareup.

Also Saturday, Hamas police beat reporters and news photographers covering a rally in Gaza City, drawing a stiff condemnation from the reporters' association.

Israel invaded Gaza two years ago to put a stop to daily rocket barrages by Gaza militants, and Saturday's exchange showed how the conflict could quickly spiral out of control. Gaza's Hamas rulers are thought to be trying to avoid another Israeli invasion, after the last one caused widespread damage, killed more than 1,400 and left the territory under blockade, but Hamas claimed responsibility for some of the mortar rounds.

A Hamas official was killed and four civilians were wounded when Israel hit back with tank fire and air strikes, said Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Adham Abu Salmia.

Israeli police spokesman Tamir Avtabi said Gaza militants fired 54 mortar shells at Israeli border communities within 15 minutes. He said two Israeli civilians were lightly wounded by shrapnel, and residents were advised to stay at home or in bomb shelters.

Cleveland, Texas rape case...

In case you haven't heard, there is a big rape case being investigated in the small East Texas town of Cleveland. It appears at least 18 black males repeatedly raped an 11 year old hispanic girl over the course of several months.

Some of the accused are star athletes at the local high school the others appear to run of the mill thugs, most with criminal records. As you can imagine, the case has gone from bad to worse. The victim, an 11 year old child remember, is being accused of all sorts of things. It has been claimed that she made posts on social networking sites claiming she wanted all the sex she could get, etc.

Of course, the families of the accused have come out claiming they are all good boys. It was all the victim's fault. The head of the new black panther party from Houston, quanell x, has gotten involved. It is turning it to quite a circus. But then anything involving the black panthers usually does. At this point it wouldn't surprise me to see obama and eric holder get involved. Maybe saying the victim acted stupidly and dropping all charges.

You know, it doesn't matter at all what the victim did or didn't do. It wouldn't have mattered if she walked down the street completely naked, she is an 11 year old child. Every single one of these thugs, star athlete or not, should be convicted and sentenced to the maximum penalty that the law will allow. She is an 11 year old child! The accused range in age from 16 to mid 20's. Each and every one of them should do hard time for this.

I know the town of Cleveland well. I lived and worked there and in the vicinity for most of my life. When I read this story I was shocked. Cleveland is not a bad town. Or it wasn't 10 years ago. Many of the stories I have read on this have been followed up by comments from people who aren't from the area and most aren't even from Texas. There were some very hateful remarks made about the entire town. It's not fair. You can't blame the entire town for the actions of a few (well, around 20) scumbag thugs. These criminals will get what they have coming, one way or another, and life will go on. There are good people in Cleveland and they don't deserve the treatment they are getting.

Agent: I was ordered to let U.S. guns into Mexico

Finally, a lame stream media outlet gives this story some coverage. This is a big deal and it shows the utter incompetence of the atf. They are basically supplying guns to the drug cartels and have been for quite a while. At the same time, they are using the guns they supply to pad the numbers and make the problem of American guns in mexico seem worse than it really is. It really seems like the guns supplied by the atf are the majority of what makes it south of the border...

By Sharyl Attkisson - CBSNews

WASHINGTON - Federal agent John Dodson says what he was asked to do was beyond belief.

He was intentionally letting guns go to Mexico?

"Yes ma'am," Dodson told CBS News. "The agency was."

An Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms senior agent assigned to the Phoenix office in 2010, Dodson's job is to stop gun trafficking across the border. Instead, he says he was ordered to sit by and watch it happen.

Investigators call the tactic letting guns "walk." In this case, walking into the hands of criminals who would use them in Mexico and the United States.

Dodson's bosses say that never happened. Now, he's risking his job to go public.

"I'm boots on the ground in Phoenix, telling you we've been doing it every day since I've been here," he said. "Here I am. Tell me I didn't do the things that I did. Tell me you didn't order me to do the things I did. Tell me it didn't happen. Now you have a name on it. You have a face to put with it. Here I am. Someone now, tell me it didn't happen."

Agent Dodson and other sources say the gun walking strategy was approved all the way up to the Justice Department. The idea was to see where the guns ended up, build a big case and take down a cartel. And it was all kept secret from Mexico.

ATF named the case "Fast and Furious."

Lobbyists: White House sends meetings off-site to hide them

This shouldn't surprise anyone. This administration is all about secret meetings, underhanded and sneaky dealings and activity that certainly shouldn't be representative of our government. obama talked so much about transparency during his campaign and still tries to bring the term up on accasion, but his gang of thugs is the worst in the history of our Country. It is easy to appear to be transparent when everything untoward is hidden, right up to the point that you are caught. Their first instinct when busted is to lie and deny. It's seems like it is a full time job for many in the administration, since they commit so many offenses.

Most political promises are filled with untruths and half truths, but obama made an artform out of outright lies. While I have never believed anything this man has said, even the most trusting amongst us should have been able to spot the transparency lie even during the campaign when obama refused to release records that other candidates freely make available.

When November 2012 rolls around, we have an opportunity to make things right. We will have an opportunity to tell the political class of this Country that the days of secret meetings and back room deals are over. That these activities will not be tolerated. We pay the bills. We have the last word...

By Chris Frates - Politico

Caught between their boss’s anti-lobbyist rhetoric and the reality of governing, President barack obama’s aides often steer meetings with lobbyists to a complex just off the White House grounds – and several of the lobbyists involved say they believe the choice of venue is no accident.

It allows the obama administration to keep these lobbyist meetings shielded from public view — and out of Secret Service logs collected on visitors to the White House and later released to the public.

“They’re doing it on the side. It’s better than nothing,” said immigration reform lobbyist Tamar Jacoby, who has attended meetings at the nearby Jackson Place complex and believes the undisclosed gatherings are better than none.

The White House scoffs at the notion of an ulterior motive for scheduling meetings in what are, after all, meeting rooms. But at least four lobbyists who’ve been to the conference rooms just off Lafayette Square tell POLITICO they had the distinct impression they were being shunted off to Jackson Place – and off the books – so their visits wouldn’t later be made public.

obama’s administration has touted its release of White House visitors logs as a breakthrough in transparency, as the first White House team ever to reveal the comings and goings around the West Wing and the Old Executive Office Building.

The Jackson Place townhouses are a different story.

There are no records of meetings at the row houses just off Lafayette Square that house the White House Conference Center and the Council on Environmental Quality, home to two of the busiest meeting spaces. The White House can’t say who attended meetings there, or how often. The Secret Service doesn’t log in visitors or require a background check the way it does at the main gates of the White House.

Hero's unwelcome

I have read some really disturbing things lately, but this has got to be the worst. How can any American jeer a war Veteran? I think I just answered my own question.

columbia university should absolutely be ashamed. Don't these elitist dumbasses know that without our United States Military they wouldn't be able to be critical of everything they don't agree with? They wouldn't be able to act like the spoiled scumbags that they are?

Maybe they should try acting like a bunch of elitist assholes in Afghanistan or Pakistan or Iran or Libya or China or any other number of countries that aren't so tolerant.

Anthony Maschek should have been treated with the respect he deserves. He had the guts to volunteer to protect this Country. He is a far better human than any of those jeering scumbags or their assclown professors.

columbia should hang it's head in disgrace...

Wounded Iraq vet jeered at Columbia

Columbia University students heckled a war hero during a town-hall meeting on whether ROTC should be allowed back on campus.

"Racist!" some students yelled at Anthony Maschek, a Columbia freshman and former Army staff sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being shot 11 times in a firefight in northern Iraq in February 2008. Others hissed and booed the veteran.

Maschek, 28, had bravely stepped up to the mike Tuesday at the meeting to issue an impassioned challenge to fellow students on their perceptions of the military.

"It doesn't matter how you feel about the war. It doesn't matter how you feel about fighting," said Maschek. "There are bad men out there plotting to kill you."

Several students laughed and jeered the Idaho native, a 10th Mountain Division infantryman who spent two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington recovering from grievous wounds.

Maschek, who is studying economics, miraculously survived the insurgent attack in Kirkuk. In the hail of gunfire, he broke both legs and suffered wounds to his abdomen, arm and chest.

He enrolled last August at the Ivy League school, where an increasingly ugly battle is unfolding over the 42-year military ban there.

More than half of the students who spoke at the meeting -- the second of three hearings on the subject -- expressed opposition to ROTC's return. Many of the 200 students in the audience held anti-military placards with slogans such as, "1 in 3 female soldiers experiences sexual assault in the military."

The university has created a task force polling 10,000 students on the issue, but would not release the vote tally of the 1,300 who have already responded.

In 2005, when the university last voted to reject ROTC's return, it cited the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

That policy was overturned in December, but resistance remains.

"Transpeople are part of the Columbia community," said senior Sean Udell at the meeting, referring to the military's current ban on transgender soldiers.

Faculty members are divided.

"Universities should not be involved in military activities," Sociology Professor Emeritus Herbert Gans told The Post. "Columbia should come out against spending $300 billion a year on unnecessary wars."

A group of 34 faculty colleagues, including historian Kenneth Jackson and former Bloomberg adviser Esther Fuchs, plan to announce their support of ROTC tomorrow.

José Robledo, 30, a Columbia student who commutes to Fordham University for ROTC coursework, said he found the treatment of Maschek abhorrent.

"The anti-ROTC side has been disrespectful and loud. They hiss and they jeer," he said. "It's been to the detriment of the argument."
